When will we see the Walkers again?
It all seemed so clear last week. The official word from ABC was that the next episode of Brothers & Sisters, “The Feast of the Epiphany,” would air on Sunday, January 6, which conveniently enough is the Feast of the Epiphany. But that’s too easy, right?
Now, on ABC’s press-release page for Brothers & Sisters, the link for that January 6 episode has added to it “NEW AIRDATE (1/13).” According to the discussion on Television Without Pity, the Walkers’ return has been scooted back a week so that the new show Cashmere Mafia can debut following the last pre-strike episode of Desperate Housewives.
Boo to that strategy, but allegedly the mafia’s moving to Wednesday after that one Sunday showing, and Brothers & Sisters will get its timeslot back for its remaining pre-strike episodes.
Except … here’s something odd. Maybe it will be gone by the time you read this, but as I write this, the “next episode” widget on ABC’s Brothers & Sisters homepage (above) lists the next one up as “The Feast of the Epiphany” … on Monday, January 7 … at 12 a.m. Followed by a rerun of “An American Family” on Monday, January 14 at 12 a.m.
Which raises the question … well, it raises a lot of questions, including:
- What’s with the switch to Monday night, and is it for real?
- Have they been replaying episodes in late-night all along, and I just missed it?
- If they have, is this just a regular repeat that they forgot to take down when they moved the first showing to the 13th?
- What happened to the “Family Album” repeat that was previously announced?
- Since the time also says 11 central, is this really on 12 a.m. on Monday, or is it midnight Monday which is really 12 a.m. Tuesday?
I’m so confused. I hate to wait an extra week, and I plan to hate Cashmere Mafia just on principle. (Well, okay. I was already planning to hate it, because it sounds stupid. But now, it’s for real.)
It would be nice of ABC could at least get its story straight, though.
