Valentine sentiments from Jon Robin Baitz
Brothers & Sisters creator Jon Robin Baitz’s latest entry on his TV Guide blog offers all sorts of little Valentines for fans. There’s a few words about tomorrow’s episode (”a glorious confection … perfectly constructed, a bit exotic and just slightly unhinged.”); some historical background on Valentine’s Day; a reflection on our sometimes agonizing, sometimes comical need for romance; a lament over the yahoos who leave homophobic comments on the blog; and this parting thought:
“Anyway, our job at Brothers & Sisters is to entertain, and to do so while saying, ‘This is what it’s like right now in our world, this is what it feels like.’ We’re all lovesick — that’s why God gave us the impulse to cook, fornicate, laugh and cry. And in the Western world, what we’re really saying is that no matter which boy or girl you want to go home with, no matter who you want to relate to, we’re all in the same damn boat. Rowing against the tide, knowing it’s easier not to row alone.”
And if that’s not poetic enough for you, there’s this heartfelt little ditty offered by commenter Fiordiligi:
I love your blog
I love your show
But most of all
I love Rob Lowe
