So that’s why Uncle Saul’s so mysterious

A while back I mused about how ill-defined the character of Uncle Saul is, and how unknowable he seemed to be. And now comes an end-of-season spoiler to shed some light on that. I’ll post it after the jump, so that those who wish to remain unspoiled can just die of unfulfilled curiosity.
Yep, he’s gay.
Jon Robin Baitz mentioned in an interview at the GLAAD awards that Kevin’s not the only gay member of the family, and AfterElton has now dashed the hopes of everybody secretly hoping it might be Rebecca by confirming that indeed, the patriarchal figure with no personal life has a skeleton in his closet, and it’s him.
According to posts in spoiler and spoiler + speculation threads in the Television Without Pity forums, the storyline will start with the last episode, “Matriarchy,” when Saul sees an old friend with whom he seems to share some history, who has recently come out of the closet.
Good thing Holly’s set her sights on someone new.

I foresee lots of fascinating interaction between Saul/Nora and Saul/Kevin next season.
