Sally Field wins an Emmy!

Woo-hoo! Sally Field won the Lead Actress in a Drama Series Emmy for her performance as Nora Walker on Brothers & Sisters. And she gave one of the more dramatic speeches of the night, which you can view in the YouTube clip above. The point at which Fox cut away from her speech is the point at which she said, “If mothers ruled the world, there would be no g–d— wars in the first place.”
Did Fox censor her for language or politics? Given some of the smarmy jokes they let slip through, it’s pretty awkward that they deleted this. It’s a speech that people will be talking about, though, at a very good time for Brothers & Sisters to be in the news. And Nora would be so proud.

Thank you for finding out what she said … at first I thought the cut away was a mistake, but then I realized she was saying something about war and figured out it was intentional.

Sally was amazing last night! And for a second there I was getting pretty angry at FOX…cutting off my Sally..I won’t stand for it! But I was so overjoyed that she won!
You said it well, Nora would be proud!

that woman is a moron and knows NOTHING about politics. She sounds like a 10 yr old onstage. someone should BAN her from award shows or shut her piehole for good!

I agree Brandon. She is a sickening presence at the award shows, so icky in the way she speaks. can’t take her stupidity onscreen, won’t watch her ever.

While she should not have said G__ D____, she had every right to be angry about the war. She is a human being with opinions like everyone else. She has a right to express those opinions. What happened to freedom of speech? What right does Fox have to censor her like that?
Just because some people may disagree with her, doesn’t mean Fox should have to right to shut her up!!!
