Retcon Patrol 1-16: “The Other Walker” Part 1

Today continues our summer-long journey through the first season of Brothers & Sisters, from our perspective here at the end of Season Two. As with our re-view of Episodes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15, I’ll be looking for contradictions between where the Walkers were then and where they’re at now, and also commenting on how the episodes look in retrospect. Yet another opening bedroom scene, this one with Robert and Kitty. That’s six out of the last 11 to open with some variation on the theme.

Holly confirms to Rebecca that she and Saul are seeing each other. Ew.

Saul wants to know what they’re going to do about Rebecca and Sarah says “Nothing. Absolutely nothing.” And oh, if they would have just kept it at that. Let Nora meet Rebecca in the Ojai hallways and hear the standard story that it some director was her father … which, oh, wait a minute now, turns out to have been the truth all along.

Sarah says that Nora finding out about Rebecca will destroy her. Well, destroy her relationship with you, Sarah, a little bit. But destroy her? Nah.

So Saul is now officially in a relationship with Holly. When did that happen? Offstage since Valentine’s Day?

For the great proponent of not keeping secrets, Saul’s still got a pretty big one. Or maybe the writers don’t know that yet at this point?

Something tells me that if it was Fawn sleeping over at Nora’s with Justin, she not only wouldn’t get the old embarrassing stories told, she wouldn’t even get a bagel. Maybe a bagel to go.

Since Chad’s so panicked about being seen in public with Kevin, should he be meeting the openly gay lawyer at the office? One secretary with a camera phone and an Internet connection, and the story’s all over.

If there’s one person Nora counts on to be her reality check, it’s Saul, the guy who knew about her husband’s affair and embezzling and didn’t tell her.

LOL. love your play by play! i just got into brothers & sisters recently. caught the starter kit video on abc.com (http://abc.go.com/player/?channel=5071) and got hooked. can’t wait for the season to start!
