Retcon Patrol 1-15: “Love Is Difficult” Part 5

Today we conclude our search for inconsistent or comment-worthy moments in the Brothers & Sisters first season with a look at the fifth and final part of Episode 14. Read Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and Part 4 if you need to catch up, then dive right in here with Part 5.

Joe is playing Vivaldi’s Fifth Guitar Concerto in C. Although Dueling Banjos would have been more apropos.
35:43
I’m with Joe. Skip the therapy, and keep playing that pretty music.
36:05
Dramatic close-up on the handshake between Holly and Tommy, like maybe there’s going to be an earthquake because of it or something.
36:34
And introducing … Emily VanCamp as Rebecca! Give her a round of applause, ladies and gentlemen.
37:09
I kind of miss the old inappropriate wild child Rebecca. Pre-bangs.
38:08
Matthew Rhys’s sweater in this scene with Chad is almost exactly the same color as his eyes. Good work, wardrobe department! (Or contact lens maker!)
38:47
The case Kevin’s working on is what all cases are about, lies and broken promises. You’re halfway to a country song there, buddy.
39:03
Kissing in an open doorway seems to be this show’s favorite symbolic gesture of being okay with your sexuality and/or choice of partner.
40:11
Aw, everybody’s gathered in the kitchen to listen to the story about Dora. Perhaps Nora has bolted the doors. The fact that I know this is all leading up to the horrible professor storyline dampens my enthusiasm for Nora’s fiction even more.
41:20
Sarah’s therapist is going on about the value of pain, and I guess it’s all deep and meaningful and tying in to our theme about the difficulty of love, but … I wonder if there’s a high suicide rate among this guy’s patients, because he’s depressing the heck out of me.
That’s five days of catch-up on Episode 15. Next up for Retcon Patrol: “The Other Walker.”

Yes, me too. Terrible. It was very deep, but not exactly what Sarah needed to hear..
