Retcon Patrol 1-13: “Something Ida This Way Comes” Part 4

If Sarah had known her arrival would follow her sex-video showing, maybe she’d have worn a less trashy dress. Are state troopers supposed to be leering like that on the job?

Justin asks Tyler if they can meet again, and says it doesn’t have to be a date, she can bring one of his family members. That, I would have liked to see.

Alright, now we know why Justin wasn’t in the previous episode. Dave Annable had to do intensive Puppy-Dog Eye workouts to get ready for this scene. He’s really working those big sad peepers.

Tyler’s dress is awfully tight and low-cut, which means she either wants to punish Justin with a view of what he can’t have, or is sending a subliminal message that she still digs him. Or, alternatively, the costume designer on this show just likes dressing women in the most revealing outfits possible.

Kitty says tonight was unusually bizarre even for her family. More bizarre than her mom outing her father’s mistress over taquitos? Maybe if you count all the yelling that’s yet to come.

This scene with Kitty and Robert in the closet makes me imagine a long afternoon in the writers room with everybody listing as many shoe metaphors and puns as they could possibly think up.

How is it possible that Tommy and Julia missed this Kitchen Revelation scene? I’m sure grandma would have wanted to know that Tommy’s sterile and Julia has been impregnated with his brothers’ sperm.

Marion Ross, sadly, does not meet the high standards of reaction shots that this show has maintained. Maybe they’ve got too much makeup on her, but her facial expressions are sadly wanting.

Nice of Saul to stand up for his sister, but he could have really taken the heat off her by sharing his own little secret. If Ida was surprised about Kevin …
