Retcon Patrol 1-12: “Sexual Politics” Part 4
Today we continue our search for inconsistent or comment-worthy moments in the Brothers & Sisters first season with a look at the fourth part of Episode 12. Read Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 if you need to catch up, then dive right in here with Part 4.

Regina Spektor’s “Fidelity” plays over the first few moments of Kitty and Robert’s surprise non-date, before Kitty goes to remove her silicone ass.
25:18
Maybe it’s just wistful thinking on my part, but Rob Lowe’s performance seems particularly Sam Seaborn-like in this dinner scene. Something about the rhythms of the line deliveries, and the confidence trying to disguise itself as charming self-deprecation. Miss that guy.
26:58
One of the things I’m noticing a lot of this time through these episodes is the excellence of the reaction shot work by this cast. Matthew Rhys, for example, is displaying an impressive range of “WTF? Is this guy for real?” looks in these early scenes with Chad. Again I say, there oughta be an Emmy for Excellence in Facial Expressions.
27:29
So, is Nora wearing any of Elise’s imitation body parts for her non-date with Lawrence? We’ll never know.
27:42
I don’t know, but I’m thinking that an expensive matchmaking service that requires a lot of questionnaires and intrusive advising but doesn’t either ascertain that the men it’s fixing women up with are gay or warn the women of that fact would not be a matchmaking service in business for very long.
28:51
Sarah says this is the worst date night ever, and I think she and Joe have in fact won the award for this particular episode.
29:42
Pretty much every line in this scene between Tommy and Julia seems entirely bogus. These two really have had about the least consistent writing of anyone on this show, and that’s saying something.
30:10
And up here on Mulholland with Chad and Kevin, the soundtrack is playing “Jersey Clowns” by Josh Rouse.
30:16
Trivia alert: Kevin was last at Makeout Point here with a soccer player named Eli.
31:39
If some enterprising paparazzi were stalking Chad, as you’d think they might be, they’d get a pretty clear shot with him and Kevin making out in a convertible on this absolutely flat and isolated and completely empty area.
33:07
Ah, well, that explains it. All the paparazzi were waiting for Robert and Kitty to emerge from the restaurant. Gotta think the soap star photos would have sold for more.
