Retcon Patrol 1-11: “Family Day” Part 3

Today we continue our search for inconsistent or comment-worthy moments in the Brothers & Sisters first season with a look at the third part of Episode 11. Read Part 1 and Part 2 if you need to catch up, then dive right in here with Part 3.
15:49
Does the Ojai Foods office seem to be excessively bustling as Nora mans the reception desk? That’s a lot of phone calls.
16:03
What sort of job do we suppose Doug has that he can be called away from it to answer the phones? He looks sort of longingly back at his desk, like he’s wishing maybe he had thought to hide under it.
16:18
Discussion point: When you verbalize the acronym ASAP, do you say A-Sap, like Tommy, or A-S-A-P, like me? A-Sap just sounds … sappy.
16:31
Who let the dogs out? Nora! There’s no good reason to have had Nora institute dog day unless she planned to put the poop receptacle by Holly’s desk.
17:50
Calista Flockhart and Rob Lowe really played pretty well off each other from the start, didn’t they? While the character of McCallister has a lot in common with Jonathan and Warren, in the controlling and overconfidence departments at least, he’s much more likeable, and their flirting is more fun to watch.
18:30
Kevin describes Justin’s therapy meeting as “a group sharing thing where you share things in a group.” There’s that silver-tongued litigator!
18:48
Tommy suggests to his mom that she doesn’t have to say anything at the meeting, she can just be quiet. Ha! Fat chance of that. She’d be more likely to be quiet if he insisted she talk.
19:28
Does Holly also hold stock in Kinko’s? She always seems to have these professionally printed and bound proposals to pass out.
20:22
Ah, McCallister’s trying that old “go shooting with a girl so you can get your arms around her” trick.
20:38
Kitty’s Annie Oakley moves are pretty cute, but do we really believe that Nora would have allowed William to give the children rifles? I bet he had to go shooting on Holly’s time.
22:24
McCallister needs someone who understands the media and can handle all the gossip and innuendo. So he hires Kitty, and then he dates her so they can get more gossip and innuendo going.
22:46
Aw, Holly was doing so well with her proposals and her Power Point presentations until she invoked the name of William Walker and got the daggers from Nora.
23:03
Why are there no dogs in the boardroom? Do none of these board members have dogs? Perhaps they would have felt calmer during this stressful time if they’d been able to scritch a pup behind the ears as Nora went down in flames. Or Tommy and Sarah could have let a cat loose and deflected attention.
24:12
You know, I’d feel sorry for Nora that her son says she’s making things worse, except that you know she’s going to make him pay.

Yup, Holly’s demand to be an “active” shareholder and her threats to commence a hostile take-over if she didn’t get her way are classic Holly.
And by “classic”, I mean pathetic and obnoxiously entitled.
See, this was only about her. About her need to prove herself and to stake claim to William’s legacy. She didn’t give a crap about how her mere presence would be a daily reminder to William’s family about this very painful betrayal, especially to Nora.
Utterly, utterly classless. Yet, too often than not, the show doesn’t call Holly out on her outrageous behavior. I hope that stops in Season 3.
