Retcon Patrol 1-11: “Family Day” Part 2

Today we continue our look for inconsistent or comment-worthy moments in the Brothers & Sisters first season with a look at the second part of Episode 11. Read yesterday’s post for the first ten minutes or so, then hop right in here.

It’s a small office, sure, but do Nora and Holly really have to have their desks facing each other like that? This doesn’t look like the same desk configuration from the previous scene.

Classic “big sister passes the buck to little brother” move by Sarah here in unloading Mom on Tom.
11:21
I really like Sarah and Joe’s kitchen, just because it looks like a real messy and cramped kitchen as opposed to a showplace. Bonus points for the cool kid art on the walls. I wonder if they gather that from the kids of cast and crew?

Gabe has a thermos full of vodka in his backpack. I bet if Sarah had gotten him that plate, he wouldn’t be turning to drink.

This whole Kitty-Kevin conversation about McCallister’s gay marriage opposition still seems like a last effort to make Kitty’s political views and career a major family issue. But in order to do that, you have to have someone who can really argue the conservative side of the issue, and I don’t think the writers’ hearts were in it. About all this conversation was good for was setting up lots of sniping between Kevin and Robert in the seasons ahead. Actually, that’s a pretty decent outcome.

Justin’s little booth with the big seashell is starting to look more and more like a confessional.

Kevin guesses the Walkers could use a little therapy. Ya think?
