One more week to wait for the Walkers

After two weekends of re-runs, tonight we eager Brothers & Sisters fans get … nothing. Absolutely nothing. The Super Bowl on Fox is the TV Ruler of the Night, and ABC is devoting its 9-11 p.m. slot to a showing of the movie Meet the Fokkers. Not the family we want to be meeting on a Sunday night, you know?
So it’s another Sunday down, but the dawn is coming, with two, count ‘em, two brand-spanking new B&S episodes scheduled for the next two Sunday nights. Of course, if the writer’s strike doesn’t wrap up pretty darn quick, these will be the last two brand-spanking new B&S episodes for a very long time, but I don’t care. Enough with the spacing them out. I’m ready to burn through these remaining Walker adventures and face the consequences.
What awaits us, then, on February 10 and 17? Let’s look at ABC’s press releases on those upcoming episodes, and see what we can figure out in light of the spoilers we speculated on last week.
I’ll put the summaries after the jump for those trying to remain innocent of all impending plot complications.
NORA AND ISAAC TAKE THEIR RELATIONSHIP A CRITICAL STEP FURTHER, ON ABC’S “BROTHERS & SISTERS”
“The Missionary Imposition” - A surprise visit from Jason forces Kevin to rethink his future and his romantic life, while Nora and Isaac grow more content in each other’s company, on “Brothers & Sisters,” SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 10 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
Guest starring are Danny Glover as Isaac Marshall, Luke Macfarlane as Scotty Wandell, Emily Rose as Lena Branigan, Denis O’Hare as Travis March, Steven Weber as Graham Finch, Eric Winter as Jason McCallister, Dana Lee as Simon Lao, Andy Mackenzie as Flatline Jack, Holly Maples as the moderator, Kevin Daniels as Sam, Tamara Gorski as Yvonne Kalo and Evelyn Reese as the elderly woman.
“Taking their relationship a critical step further” sounds like maybe Nora and Isaac are the couple in that spoiler having sex for the first time. On the other hand, “grow more content in each other’s company” sounds like maybe they’re just sitting in front of the fire, knitting.
I’m hoping there will be some kind of resolution to the Kevin-Scotty-Jason triangle, but if it’s a surprise visit, does that mean it’s not the e-mailed-about lunch? I see Lena’s still in the guest star list, boo hoo. We can only hope that this is the episode in which she is drop-kicked from the face of the earth, or maybe sent to Malaysia to take up Jason’s school-building duties. Is she on the guest list for the next outing?
SARAH TAKES AN IMPORTANT STEP TOWARD FREEING HERSELF FROM AN UNHEALTHY RELATIONSHIP, ON ABC’S “BROTHERS & SISTERS”
“Compromises” - Nora discovers that Isaac is not the man she had hoped he was, and Graham helps Sarah gain some closure. Meanwhile, Robert and Jason have a long overdue confrontation, on “Brothers & Sisters,” SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 17 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
Guest starring are Ken Olin as David Caplan, Danny Glover as Isaac Marshall, Luke Macfarlane as Scotty Wandell, Denis O’Hare as Travis March, Steven Weber as Graham Finch, Eric Winter as Jason McCallister, Nicholas Gonzalez as Mario, Parvesh Cheena as Jordan, Mitch Silpa as Quinn, Adam Pilver as the messenger, Justine Dorsey as Sophie McCallister, Max Burkholder as Jack McCallister, Enrico Colantoni as Evan and Christopher Allport as Governor Michael Bryant.
No, she’s gone! No Lena in the guest list! Oh please please please let this be the resolution of that spoiler about somebody leaving the show for good. Be gone, blonde girl! And don’t come back! Speaking of blonde girls, Justine Dorsey is back as Robert’s daughter, probably to be catty to Kitty. And Enrico Colantoni is onboard, too, perhaps to finally front-burner that Saul storyline.
Meanwhile, in what way do we suppose Isaac is not the man Nora hoped he’d be? Here’s hoping this does not have to do with that sex storyline. Given that the summary also includes a confrontation between Jason and Robert, maybe Nora finds out that Isaac outed Jason and those two stories tie together. Or maybe Jason’s confronting Robert about not passing on his phone messages to Kevin? Nah, that wouldn’t be long overdue. I hope the closure Graham helps Sarah find is for her marriage, and not anything that involves Steven Weber going away.
Don’t quite know how we’ll survive after these two episodes are gone. But I’m not going to worry about that until 11 p.m. on the 17th. In the meantime: Bring ‘em on!

Brothers and Sisters, ABC, spoilers

It’s a good thing they apparently seem to be making strong in-roads with the strike because I wouldn’t be thrilled for these to be the final episodes of the season.
I’m interested in Nora/Issac and potentially how that will impact Kitty/Robert. I like the actor playing Saul’s Love Interest but I’ll reserve judgement to see how they handle it. The rest… I didn’t like Graham with Sarah, I don’t want to see anything to do with Lena and I have such a low opinion of the actor playing Scotty that emphasis on the love triangle is not really welcome here. I cross my fingers that he’ll end up with Jason but I doubt it. Just as long as it’s resolved soon and they make Kevin less mopey and self-pitying.

Terri’s right about the press releases…They pretty much confirm that 2.11 is Lena’s last episode (thank heavens).
Also, if anyone has seen the publicity stills released for 2.12, it likewise indicates that the Kevin love triangle will be resolved within the space of 2.11. I’m hopeful that’s the case because a resolution makes it more likely Kevin will settles into something more stable in his personal life.
Both Nora/Isaac and Sarah/Graham hold a lot of potential, from my view, so I look forward to seeing their relationships evolve.
