More about Rebecca and the Walkers

VanCamp 2ABC has now officially confirmed that Emily VanCamp has the job of playing Rebecca, heretofore secret love child of Walker patriarch William and his longtime mistress Holly. VanCamp will be a series regular, raising the number of regulars to 11 plus Rob “Really a Regular But We’ll Call Him Special Guest Star Because He’s Special” Lowe for an even dozen. And just how will Rebecca meet up with her half-Brothers & Sisters? If you really want to know, TV Guide’s Ask Ausiello has the scoop; if you don’t really want to know, stop reading NOW. In answer to the question “Got any scoop on how Brothers & Sisters is going to introduce Rebecca?” Ausiello writes: “Why don’t we let Greg Berlanti take this one: ‘Her first scene is with Holly in front of Tommy (Balthazar Getty) at the end of sweeps. Tommy is the first [Walker sibling] to meet her. He knows this girl is [his sister], but she obviously doesn’t know. And then very soon thereafter, she discovers her actual identity and everything kind of blows up.’ Nora, Justin and Kitty, meanwhile, learn the truth ‘in a big way in a March episode.’” And he offers one more spoiler for the road: “Here’s another scoopbit courtesy of Greg Berlanti: ‘In February sweeps, Tommy is going to decide to go into business with Holly, much to the consternation of his sister.’” I’m thinking the word consternation really does not do justice to the kind of reaction Sarah is going to have.
