Looking on the bright side

After tonight, there’s only one more Walker-less Sunday before Brothers & Sisters returns to … well, who knows what it’s returning to do. There have been interesting-sounding spoilers, like Nora upsetting her kids by thinking of moving away, and Kevin and Scotty tying the knot; and horrifying-sounding spoilers like Justin or Rebecca getting de-Walkered and the two of them embarking on a romance.
Surely, certainly, absolutely, most likely, those horrifying developments are just a tease or a misunderstanding or a misinformation campaign of dazzling trickery. Undoubtedly, those clever writers have something dumbfounding up their sleeves that we have not even thought to wonder about, as promised.
But … just in case, just to look on the bright side, just to feel even the least bit thankful for saying goodbye to Here Come the Newlyweds and hello to Here Come the Walkers, I have racked my reluctant brain and come up with the Top 10 Good Things About a Paternity Switch and a Justin-Rebecca Romance:
10. More likely to hold onto that big Desperate Housewives audience than realistic family drama.
9. Illegitimacy + Incest = Emmy bait.
8. A different father for Justin opens up a role for another high-profile guest-star.
7. And to cover that guest-start cost, no need to hire actors to portray love interests for Justin and Rebecca! That’s three character romances for the price of one.
6. Flashbacks give hair department opportunity to think of more scary hairstyles for Nora.
5. It’s a tradition that someone gets a paternity check every season. Future revelations: Cooper’s not a Whedon! Lizzie’s the result of a mistake at the sperm bank! Ida’s got a surprise for Saul!
4. Speaking of Ida, can you imagine how delightfully befuddled she’ll get when her grandkids start explaining that Rebecca is William’s child, Justin is not, and Justin and Rebecca are a couple? Comic gold!
3. This could be enough in-law scandal to put an end to McCallister’s presidential aspirations, and boring campaign plotlines, for good.
2. Cross-promotional opportunity: Someone from Lost passed through Pasadena in a flashback and changed the past!
1. The way they blow through plot on this show, it will all be over in five minutes anyway.

Thanks for the laughter, Terri.
I am looking forward to the the whole interference thing to stop Nora from leaving.
And to the fundraiser. Kevin and Scotty look just stunning (well so do the others, but I actually don’t give a flying frack :-)) I hope the writers have written some lovely dialogues for the boys.
I am curious to what decision Saul will take that will jeopardize Ojai’s future and how/if Ojai will survive.
But most of all, I am in 7th heaven over the rumor that Kevin and Scotty tying the knot. At last!!
