I’m dreaming of a Walker Christmas

Merry day after Christmas! For those who celebrated, how was your day? Any Brothers & Sisters DVD sets under the tree? I got three Lyle Lovett CDs, which I guess I can now say is a Brothers & Sisters-related gift.
Still, amidst all the family merriment, I couldn’t help but think about how another family was handling the holiday. What, I wondered, were the Walkers doing now? Overdosing on eggnog? Flinging figgy pudding at each other? Sniping about uneven gift exchanges? Making like the Three Wise Men and going on a road trip?
Unless “The Feast of the Epiphany” gives us a much-delayed Christmas vision, we’ll never know. And that’s too bad, because there were such a lot of milestones this time around for the Walker clan. We’re missing:
- Baby Elizabeth’s first Christmas
- Tommy and Julia’s first Christmas since the loss of Baby William
- Tommy and Julia’s first Christmas after their separation (and maybe last?)
- Kitty and Robert’s first Christmas as a married couple
- Sarah’s first Christmas since her divorce
- The first Christmas in which the visitation arrangements of two sets of kids — Sarah’s and Robert’s — have to be factored in
- Kevin and Scotty’s first Christmas as a couple
- Justin’s first Christmas since his second return from war
- Justin’s first Christmas clean and sober in, most likely, many, many years
- Rebecca’s first Christmas as a Walker (and maybe last?)
It would have been fun to watch, wouldn’t it? With all the irons left sizzling in the fire after the wedding episode, it’s kind of hard to believe these folks could make it through another family event without the kind of explosion we’d need to hear about. Sounds like a Christmas miracle!

I had a good Christmas, and hope you did too! Just thought I’d leave some news about Rachel: http://undercover.com.au/News-Story.aspx?id=3701
I really want to go see her at the protest, but sadly, I have work. (And really, it’s not an in-store signing or anything, it’s a protest, so I shouldn’t be going if I’m not supporting the protest.)
