Flipping through this week’s TV Guide
Got my TV Guide holiday special double issue in the mail today, and it’s chock-full of Brothers & Sisters news. Okay, maybe not “chock-full.” There are a few little items. But with the show getting so overlooked by awards groups, any media mention at all is cause for excitement. Besides including the Rob-Lowe-returning January 7 episode on its “Hot List” for that week, and putting into print the Ausiello item about the stunt-casting of Nora’s mom (although the guess that it might be Cloris Leachman is kinda out of date now), the issue offers these tidbits:
- A Scorpio horoscope with a “Confidential to Sally Field: Catering to the powers-that-be has always bugged you because you have high standards of behavior and morality that do not include sucking up to anyone who can make or break you. Even at this stage of your life, power and politics drive you up the wall.” Hey, I wonder if Nora’s a Scorpio, too? Sounds like the same message applies.
- An “Is It Just Me” Readers’ Edition item with James Parr of Burlington, Vt., asking, “Is it just me, or were Justin Walker (Dave Annable of Brothers & Sisters) and Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia of Heroes) separated at birth?” Columnist Rochell D. Thomas agrees, but “only in photos where Milo’s got the sexy stubble.”
- This “Highlights” preview of that same January 7 episode: “The Walkers may be a lot of things — wealthy (kinda — there is that bankruptcy thing), WASPy (kinda again — there is the half-Jewish thing), wine-soaked (nailed that one). But the one thing they just haven’t mastered at all is the warm and fuzzy. Which is going to be a big problem when they gather for a family session at Justin’s latest rehap. Meanwhile, Senator McCallister has something to ask Kitty and you can bet it’s more personal than political.”
