Five questions: “The Feast of the Epiphany”
This week’s five questions, for “The Feast of the Epiphany,” are going to be a little different, because there are a couple of photos on the ABC site that don’t seem to correspond with what we actually saw in the episode, and one question that benefits from a visual. So I’m going to go ahead and illustrate ‘em all, making this my first-ever “Five Questions: Photo Edition.” Enjoy!

1. What did Kevin do to deserve this? I’m certain this was not in the episode we saw, and I’m uncertain of any sort of reasonable subplot that would have seen Kevin sitting against a wall with a dunce cap on. (Not that he doesn’t deserve it from time to time, you understand.) Yet this photo was among the ABC selection of shots from the episode. Whatever scene led up to this photo being taken better be on the Season 2 DVD, is all I can say.

2. Was a subplot involving Julia as an automotive spokesmodel cut as well? That’s the only thing I can imagine for this photo, also among ABC’s assemblage from the episode. Perhaps there was some sort of flashback of her meeting her old boyfriend for lunch and adultery. Speaking of Julia, if she only slept with the boyfriend once and regretted it immediately, and Tommy slept with Lena many times and only really regretted it at the end, are their infidelities equal? I’m going to say yes, only because Julia started it by abandoning Tommy and cutting off all communication. Not that it justifies him dallying with the help, but if Julia hadn’t run off, or had stayed in touch, I don’t think he’d have done it.

3. What’s with this blouse Sarah had on? I’m marginally OK with this sort of close-fitting vest and blouse, but the matching cuffs, not so much. And the bow around the neck? I don’t think that’s been in style for a while, and even then it looked goofy.

4. Did someone on Robert’s campaign leak the info on Adamson? Isaac’s supposed to be a pretty tricky guy; I wouldn’t put it past him to conveniently interpret Robert’s directive as forbidding a leak to the press, but not forbidding letting Adamson know they know. Then again, maybe Travis got so tired of being left out of the loop that he went ahead and took some initiative. Could have been Kitty, though I’d hate to open up another marital secret after closing the children issue. And I suppose it could have been Robert, with whom the buck stops. Or Adamson could have just had a completely random, utterly convenient attack of conscience. Yeah, I’m sure that’s it.

5. How’d Robert do at his first family dinner as a spouse? I thought he did pretty well. I particularly loved his semi-outsider take on all the secrets being thrown around in the kitchen: “Who’s Lena?” So how are they going to manage all this family bickering when Kitty and Robert are in the White House, huh? Teleconferencing?

Ha! The Julia picture is a bit weird. Of course, none of us should be surprised that they would cut Julia scenes but give the actress some help here - a more fleshed out story/reason for her affair could have made it slightly easier to swallow.
I read some speculation that the dunce picture was just behind the scenes pranks but I don’t believe that sort of image would make it as far as being used as an official promotional picture. I think in light of there being a big family scene in this episode, we missed out on a fun Walker game. As you say, hopefully the DVD…
I do hope Kitty wasn’t responsible for the politician coming clean. Hopefully it’s Isaac and then with Nora’s romantic interest they can do the Robert’s-mad-at-Isaac but-Nora-loves-him conflict thing.

2. I don’t know if they really should tie up the whole affair thing so quickly, but who knows. I thought it was an interesting way of dealing with it though, the Julia also cheating thing. Though they semi-kinda could have gone there with Noah or whatever that random love interest of Sarah’s was, who sorta hung around and seemed like he was going to be important but never did.
3. Yeah, that was a weird outfit.

I don’t think the duncecap shot was from the actual episode. I say this because: Where could the Walker game have fit into the narrative? We saw all of the siblings arrive for the dinner, and I highly doubt they were in the mood to play a game after the family meltdown.
