Five Questions: “Mistakes Were Made Part 1″

Five questions from this past Sunday’s re-run episode still rattling in my brain today.
1. Where did they get this code-breaker guy anyway? He took down enough personal information on Rebecca to make Holly squirm and fed it all through his super-duper Acme code-breaker software, but never thought of adding her initial to the other siblings? Because no one would ever think of using their children’s initials, lined up in perfect age order, as a password! No! Too diabolical!
2. Is Gabe gonna get a plate? It was so sweet when tough hurt boy asked his stepmom about the personalized tableware, and he so wants one of his own. Given the way Sarah ditched out on the conversation when she figured the key to the code (What! Initials! What kind of cunning computer-wizard madman was this William Walker anyway?), the least she can do for the kid is paint him a dish.
3. Doesn’t the hotel where Justin worked have HBO or something? Surely there’s got to be something more fun to clean rooms to than war news. Unless, of course, you need a little plot twist-of-the-knife to send a soldier boy over the edge.
4. Where did Fawn come from? Does she just have drug radar? Does she come free with your purchase of quality pharmaceuticals? And is she any good at “Guess the Lick Word”? Maybe you have to be high to get into that game.
5. Is 9/11 so long ago that we need period hair to identify the flashbacks? Nora had to bear the burden of the Symbolic Hair of Time Passage, and a stiff little helmet it was, too. They thought the blinding flash of light and the presence of Dead Dad wouldn’t be tip-off enough? “Well, it seems like it might be in the past because William’s alive, Justin’s not broken, and there are planes flying into the World Trade Center, but I don’t know — Nora’s hair looks just like it does now, so maybe not.”
