Five questions: “Going Once … Going Twice”

Five questions about last Sunday’s episode — “Going Once … Going Twice” — still rattling around in my brain:
1. Was it rude of Scotty to leave the party? I actually thought he was just stepping away for a moment, but apparently he went all the way home. And yeah, Kevin did the wrong thing by buying the house and presenting it as he did, but Sarah also went to a lot of trouble to have a party specifically on Scotty’s behalf. Shouldn’t the guest of honor have certain responsibilities in the area of sticking around? Then again, I suppose abrupt departures are the sort of thing you should plan for when you’re having Walkers over to dinner.
2. Why wouldn’t the bills all be in Kevin’s name? He was living in the loft long before Scotty moved in, and would presumably have had, like, lights and phone service and heat. Do people really change all the utility contact information to include their spouse’s name in these situations? What a pain in the paperwork.
3. Should Kitty get involved with Sarah’s business for real? Both Sarah’s invitation and Kitty’s zealousness were more a function of Kitty’s depression than actually professional duties. But when you’ve got an unemployed communications director and television personality in the family, and a business you’re going to need to publicize, doesn’t sound like such a bad match of strengths for some sort of consultant set-up. Especially when she’s got enough money to not need to, you know, get paid.
4. Can someone who wins something at auction just transfer it at will to another bidder? Speaking of pains in the paperwork, I wonder how much legal mumbo-jumbo is going to have to accompany that son-to-mom passing of keys. Good thing Kevin’s a lawyer.
5. So exactly what was the great spandex debacle? Not like the Walkers to keep us in the dark about something embarrassing, but it is cute when they have these little long-lasting family code words. I’d say pretty much anything involving the wearing of spandex would be a debacle, so maybe there’s not so much of a need to be specific.
