Five Questions: “Date Night”

Five questions from last Sunday’s episode still rattling in my brain today.
1. Why did Jonathan agree to stay at that house? I know why Nora asked him, but he seems like a guy who wants the top suite and all the business services an exclusive hotel can provide. The Walker house isn’t exactly Motel 6, sure, but it doesn’t seem like the suave fellow’s style to be a houseguest. Maybe it was part of his attempt to bond with Kitty, along with, like, breaking and entering and nearly scaring her to death.
2. Was Saul really dating Holly, or just information-gathering? He seemed to be fishing in their conversation at the restaurant, but flirting, too. Given the apparent revelations about his sexuality in the season’s last episode, it’s interesting to look back on this dinner and wonder if he was trying to convince Holly his intentions were true, or himself.
3. Do waiters really remember the drinks of someone who’s been there once? I mean, if Warren’s constantly bringing chicks to that establishment, I suppose it’s conceivable that someone would remember his beverage of choice, but Kitty’s? I’ve had waiters forget my beverage of choice between the table and the kitchen. If these fancy restaurants have a higher class of waitstaff with superior memory skills, they might want to think about adding some sort of discretion chip, too.
4. Should Justin pursue a career as a diabetes babysitter? Seriously, I just read about a service that matches up families of children with diabetes with sitters who know how to give insulin shots and such. With his youth, charm, and magical way with a needle, Justin could be highly in demand. Of course, his drug history, and whatever dread problem he’s going to come home from war with, might be an issue. But the ability to turn a terrorized screaming kid into a smiling, insulin-dosed princess in seconds flat is a gift, young man. Use it wisely.
5. Why on earth did they re-run this one again? Is it anybody’s pick for a top oldie? It’s full of relationships that didn’t even make it halfway through the season, company intrigue that was wrapped up quick, and behavior from Nora that was so irritating and irrational that I had to hit the mute button a couple of times. Alright, it was maybe worth watching again for Justin’s save-the-day moment with Paige, but other than that, not so much. Retire this one, ABC, ‘kay?
