Emmy’s love Sally, snub everybody else

Sally Field Emmy speechIt looks like Sally Field is destined to be the standard bearer for Brothers & Sisters. The Emmy nominations came out today, and Ma Walker got the show’s sole nod. No other acting, writing, directing, casting, photographing, nothing. Nada. It’s Nora or bust.

Which, in addition to the lack of respect the show gets, is too bad for Calista Flockhart and Rob Lowe, who I thought did great work this year. Their acting was the only redeeming quality to a storyline I really, really hated. Given the stunning number of categories in the Emmys (I nodded off halfway through reading the list and had to go back and do a search for “Brothers & Sisters” to make sure I didn’t miss anything), you’d think they could add something like “Worst Plot Twists.” I think this past season would be a shoo-in for a nomination, though Grey’s Anatomy might give it a run for the money for the trophy.
